Hiring Company: STS Technical Services STS Technical Services is hiring Parts Fabricators to join our client's team in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This hands-on position is ideal for mechanically inclined professionals experienced with power tools and fabrication equipment. You'll help fabricate high-quality structural fiberglass parts and contribute directly to production and assembly processes.
Position Overview
As a Parts Fabricator, you'll work with both mechanical and pneumatic tools to measure, drill, cut, and deburr raw materials for assembly. You'll interpret engineered drawings, work independently or as part of a team, and help maintain a clean and safe work environment. Key Responsibilities
- Plan, layout, and fabricate parts using fiberglass materials and machining techniques
- Use shop math to mark accurate dimensions on components
- Maintain inventory of common stock parts including brackets, clips, and spacers
- Use measuring tools and levels to ensure part quality
- Follow engineered drawings, material lists, and blueprints
- Contribute to a positive team environment and support general shop operations
- Report safety concerns and associate issues to leadership
- Maintain a clean and organized work area free of clutter and debris
- Perform tasks such as machine setup, drilling, cutting, and finishing
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and work instructions
- Comfortable with hand and power tools including drills, saws, and routers
- Ability to use measuring instruments such as calipers, tape measures, and squares
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Basic math skills including fractions and decimals
- Ability to follow written, verbal, and diagram-based instructions
- Able to work independently and within a team
Physical Requirements
- Stand, walk, bend, and lift regularly throughout the shift
- Lift 1-10 pounds frequently, 10-50 pounds occasionally, and up to 80 pounds with assistance
- Regularly reach, kneel, crouch, and climb when needed
- Must have full visual acuity including depth perception and focus adjustments
Work Environment
- Work near loud power tools and fabrication equipment
- Exposure to airborne particles, chemicals, and high-noise areas
- Occasional work at heights or in non-climate-controlled spaces
- Safety awareness is critical to prevent injury to yourself and others
PPE Requirements
- Safety glasses
- Work gloves
- Steel-toe footwear
- Ear plugs or headset
- Chemical-resistant gloves, goggles, apron (as needed)
- Additional PPE may be required depending on task
