Senior Civil Engineer (Transportation)

The Senior Civil Engineer provides support statewide to assist Central Office, District staff and consultants in the development of automated engineering processes and related utilization. If warranted, you will assist in planning and performing acceptance testing of such automation. This role requires utilizing sound engineering principles and knowledge of design standards to certify the quality of PS&E packages by reviewing and approving various design submissions such as Line and Grade, Typical Sections, Drainage and Right of Way Plans. Work involves performing in-depth review and analysis of complete engineering designs from District staff and consultant engineering firms for conformance with project scope and program requirements. You will have the opportunity to provide professional engineering guidance for agency policies and engineering standards and requirements, develop and review calculations, plans, and more for overall technical completeness and accuracy, and conduct engineering research related to new processes and advancements in Digital Design deliverables.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
• Position can be headquartered in Harrisburg or at a district office where space is available.
• Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the engineering district office closest to the selected candidate's location.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Six years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty and an Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists; or
• Five years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty; and an Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists; and an associate's degree in civil engineering technology or a closely related engineering discipline; or
• Two years of professional civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty, and a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.

Other Requirements:

• PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
• You must be able to perform essential job functions.
