We are seeking a full-time Child / Adolescent Day Treatment Psychotherapist / Qualified Treatment Trainee who is self-motivated, energetic, and a take-charge individual. Position Summary: The Child and Adolescent Day Treatment (CADT) Psychotherapist Position is a full-time position responsible for delivering comprehensive behavioral health services to children and adolescents ages 6 to 18 who require higher level of mental health care. This role provides individual, family, and group psychotherapy within a multidisciplinary treatment setting, supporting youth with complex emotional and behavioral needs. The psychotherapist or qualified treatment trainee (QTT) under appropriate supervision, plays a key role in promoting emotional wellness, developing coping skills, and fostering family engagement as part of an intensive, structure therapeutic program. Job Responsibilities: Promote healthy personal and family relationships through education, exploration of relationship dynamics, and therapeutic intervention. Provide psychotherapeutic services to CADT participants and their families, including individual, group, and/or family therapy using evidence-based and developmentally appropriate approaches for diverse populations and tailored to school-aged youth. Implement trauma-informed interventions addressing anxiety, depression, behavioral concerns, trauma, and other mental health challenges. Participate in multidisciplinary case reviews, psychiatric consultations, and DHS 40-required supervision and consultation with team members on cases as needed. Document treatment notes on each active client as dictated by DHS 40. Apply principles of behavior modification, social skills, cognitive therapy, art therapy and other evidence-based practices to the child and adolescent day treatment setting. When appropriate, assist in restraint and seclusion if/when patients become physically aggressive. Provide each client with a custom-designed SMART treatment plan which will include measurable, realistic and appropriate treatment goals, and outline specific therapeutic interventions utilized, ongoing assessment of progress, modifications when necessary, and aftercare planning. Continuously review client treatment plans and record therapy sessions with progress notes in an electronic health record. Ensure notes contain accurate and relevant information and stay within legal parameters. Document treatment reviews on each active client as dictated by DHS 40. Collaborate with referents and community resources, outpatient psychotherapists, psychiatric providers for medication management, primary care providers, parents/caregivers, and school staff in treatment and continuity of care. Qualifications: Education: Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage & Family Therapy, or Psychology Licensure: Licensed or license-eligible (LCSW, LPC, or APSW, LPC-IT) in Wisconsin. Supervision for licensure may be available for eligible candidates Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of post-graduate clinical experience preferred; experience working with children and adolescents in community mental health, FQHCs, or day treatment/PHP/IOP settings is highly desirable. Proficiency in evidence-based modalities (e.g. CBT, DBT, ACT, EMDR, MI) Strong cultural competency and commitment to working with underserved and marginalized populations American Heart Association Health Care Provider CPR certification or American Red Cross Professional rescue is required before start date. Annual recertification is required. Formal training in management of aggressive patients is required within sixty (60) days of the day of hire (this may be provided during the orientation process).
