QUALITY MANAGER

Job Purpose:

The Quality Manager position reports to the factory General Manager, this is a key role for ensuring product and process quality, requiring an understanding of both quality assurance and control. Core responsibilities include managing QMS processes to meet customer expectations, inspecting products, providing guidance to team members & liaising with project managers, process engineers, operations, and other functions in the factory. Required skills include problem solving and decision making abilities, communication/collaboration expertise, and technical proficiency in the electronics and electromechanical manufacturing industry.

Nature of Duties:



  • Manages the activities of the Quality team and is responsible for staffing decisions, training, development,and performance management of the staff.
  • Development, implementation, and sustaining of Quality Systems.
  • Development and execution quality assurance protocols.
  • Survey and gauge the quality of products.
  • Assures that products comply with customer specifications and industry standards.
  • Provides guidance and support to team members.
  • Ensures that projects are completed within the allotted timeframe and budget.
  • Defines and specifies the implementation of standards, methods, and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision, accuracy, and reliability of company products.
  • Participates in the review of engineering designs to contribute quality assurance requirements and considerations.
  • Assists product support areas in gathering and analyzing data.
  • Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
  • Perform Internal and Supplier Audits.
  • Management representative responsibilities for QMS.
  • Achieve various certifications for the organization as the need arises (ex. ISO 9001, ISO 13485).



Education and Experience:



  • BS in a related Engineering discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Quality Manager with outsourcing and contract manufacturing dealing with complex electro-mechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies.
  • Proven record in problem solving and implementation of a quality system such as ISO 9001, AS9100 and IPC standards.
  • Solid experience in Internal Audits and Supplier Management, along with knowledge of working in inspection environment.
  • Experience and knowledge in GD&T.
  • Strong familiarity with Design Transfer and Process Validation requirements.
  • Strong background in reflow, wave soldering, all SMT processes, and the related equipment, Thru-Hole technology and process development with the ability to serve as a lead for all quality related issues.
  • Ability to multi-task, strong time management skills, strong analytical skills, and experience using statistical tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient use of technology including MS Office/Google Suite and Internet resources is expected.
  • Very good knowledge of Six Sigma/Lean/statistical tools, preferred Black Belt certification.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Data analysis and reporting.
  • Process improvement and optimization.
  • Risk management.
