Overview

Join the HJF Team!

HJF is seeking an Intern whose work will provide support to a team of pediatricians, epidemiologists, biostatisticians and research studies. These may include data acquisition, data analysis and assist in the interpretation of data. The successful candidate will collaborate with principal investigators, epidemiologists, and other data analysts and managers to establish data requirements.


This is a part-time temporary position. (20 hrs/week for 8-10 weeks), supporting the work of the Divisions of Military Child and Family Research and Health Systems Research and Clinical Epidemiology in the Department of Pediatrics at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, MD.

The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing military medicine. We serve military, medical, academic and government clients by administering, managing and supporting preeminent scientific programs that benefit members of the armed forces and civilians alike. Since its founding in 1983, HJF has served as a vital link between the military medical community and its federal and private partners. HJF's support and administrative capabilities allow military medical researchers and clinicians to maintain their scientific focus and accomplish their research goals.


Responsibilities

  • Assist in data analysis
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor.
  • Attend or participate in scientific and professional development seminars.
  • Work closely with research team to analyze experimental results.
  • Translating findings into a poster presentation at the Summers Scholars Program Symposium.
  • Generate and draft a written manuscript for publication.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 0-2 years experience required.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to follow detailed instructions.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks.

Work Environment

  • This position will take place primarily in an office setting.

Compensation

  • The hourly pay range for this position is $17.75-$19.00. Actual hourly pay will be determined based on experience, education, etc.
