Research Assistant - Medical Image Registration and Visualization
The Research Assistant will investigate methods for visualizing uncertainty in non-rigid registration between MRI and ultrasound images, with a focus on neurosurgical applications. The position involves developing and implementing algorithms using Python and 3D Slicer to evaluate different visualization techniques. Responsibilities include: Designing and conducting experiments to assess the effectiveness of uncertainty visualization methods. Running these experiments with volunteer neurosurgical residents. Analyzing and interpreting experimental data. Presenting findings to the research group at Brigham and Women's Hospital (BWH). Preparing research results for submission to academic conferences or peer-reviewed journals, as appropriate. The Research Assistant will also attend weekly lab meetings and meet regularly with their assigned supervisor for guidance and progress updates.
