Job Requirements:

LOCATION: 7 World Trade Center, 250 Greenwich Street, New York, NY 10007

Duties:

  • Draft and prepare open and closing statements and cross examinations for hearings and tribunals.
  • Interview and prepare experts for testimony.
  • Draft documents for tribunals including damages sections of briefs, preliminary relief requests and post-hearing briefings.
  • Mentor and train junior associates and other legal staff.
  • Research and draft arbitration related articles and white papers.

May telecommute up to 40%.

Requirements:

The position requires a Juris Doctor degree, LLM, Bachelor of Arts (or foreign equivalent) in Legal Studies or related field and four years of experience in the job offered or in a Senior Associate-related occupation.

Position requires admission to NY bar. Position also requires demonstrable experience in the following:

  • Experience in Investor Treaty and Commercial International Arbitrations.
  • Strong writing and advocacy skills through published work, including articles and commentary.
  • Experience working with fact and expert witnesses, including taking witness testimony, drafting witness statements, assisting expert witnesses draft expert reports, preparing witnesses for cross-examination.
  • Experience in drafting briefs, including fact and legal sections.
  • Experience as second-chair at hearings and conducting cross or direct examinations.
  • Experience in case management, including reviewing associate work and ensuring team deadlines are met.
  • Experience in all stages of an arbitration, from initial requests for arbitration through enforcement.

May telecommute up to 40%.

Salary: $390,000/year
