Avionics Engineer Intern

Astrion has an exciting opportunity for an Avionics Engineer Intern.

You will provide engineering support for design, build, and test of avionics and electrical systems in the KSC Swampworks. The Granular Mechanics and Regolith Operations lab, within the KSC Swampworks, focuses on designing robotic systems for use on the Lunar and Martian surfaces.

Astrion offers comprehensive services that boost preparedness, optimize performance, and ensure success across various domains, from Cyber to Digital, Mission and Systems, servicing our nation's Civilian, Defense and Space communities. We support customers with Centers of Excellence in Washington DC, Huntsville, AL and Burlington, MA with an additional 36 locations across the U.S.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

• In progress or recently completed Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline
• 0 years of related experience, but related coursework

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

• Electronics Design Experience
• Experience reading electrical datasheets
• Knowledge of Microcontrollers, Communication Buses (i2c, CAN, SPI, etc.)
• Git Version Control System experience
• Kicad EDA Software Experience
• PCB Design and Layout Experience
• Electrical Component Selection Experience
• Experience with load switches
• Linux / Yocto
• Firmware dev
• Power electronics
• Battery powered system design

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support full time engineers in the design, build, code, test cycle for flight avionics and robotic control systems
