Hydro Aluminium Metal a leading supplier of extrusion ingots, sheet ingots, foundry alloys, wire rods and high-purity aluminum with a global production network of around 5,000 employees. With primary metal production facilities in Europe, Canada, Australia, Brazil and Qatar, and recycling facilities throughout Europe and in the U.S., two-thirds of our primary aluminum production is based on renewable energy. Join our global technology organization, comprising over 25 highly skilled and dedicated research scientists. Located at our greenfield production unit in Cassopolis, MI, the North American Technology Center is at the forefront of innovation in aluminum products. As a Research Scientist at HATC, you will spearhead the development of new cast house projects and alloys, collaborating closely with our operating plants and their customers. Your work will be pivotal in advancing Hydro's green aluminum products, Hydro CIRCAL & REDUXA, which boast an unprecedented low carbon footprint. Additionally, you will contribute to the creation of alloys tailored for automotive applications, supporting the industry's transition to electric drivetrains. You will work on
Project Management: Plan, execute, and lead projects effectively. Alloy Development: Innovate and test optimized or new alloys for diverse applications. Cast House Technologies: Develop, test and verify cutting- edge cast house technologies. Simulation: Utilize CAE software to simulate structural behavior and material performance. Customer Support: Provide technical support to customers and engage in joint development projects. Collaboration: Work closely with the Customer Technical Support (CTS) team in North America to enhance customer success with aluminum. Academic and Industry Engagement: Foster dialogue and cooperation with colleges, universities, and industry institutes. Stakeholder Communication: Keep stakeholders informed about product developments and updates. Presentation: Share R&D results through reports, webinars, publications, and presentations.
