The Target Pay Range for this position is $194,400.00-$237,800.00 annually. The full Pay Range is $151,400.00 - $280,900.00 annually. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. Incentives are performance based and targets vary by role.

IMPACT YOU'LL MAKE: As a Director of Technology - Digital Banking, you will play a pivotal execution role in aligning technology initiatives with business objectives, modernizing platforms, and supporting digital transformation. This role requires a motivated, hands-on leader who rolls up their sleeves to solve problems, drive progress, and lead by example. Your expertise will drive strategic planning, enhance engineering excellence, and implement modern architectures across Cloud, Data, API, and DevOps. Your leadership will directly impact BECU's digital banking landscape, ensuring seamless member experiences through innovation, collaboration, and execution. You will oversee technology roadmaps, manage high-performing engineering teams, and champion agile practices. With a focus on operational efficiency and continuous improvement, you will shape the future of digital banking technology at BECU. To join our dynamic team, we require candidates to be residents of WA, OR, ID, AZ, TX, GA, or SC. - Strategic Project Execution: Execute on technology initiatives that align with business goals, driving innovation and modernization.
- Engineering Excellence: Oversee technical requirements, software engineering, and technology delivery, ensuring high-quality outcomes across multiple teams.
- Support Agile Delivery: Actively participate in Agile ceremonies, backlog refinement, and planning sessions. Help remove blockers and ensure timely, high-quality delivery across sprints.
- Advance DevOps & CI/CD Capabilities: Champion the use of modern engineering practices including infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines, test automation, and observability tooling to improve release velocity and system reliability.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with product, operations, architecture, infrastructure and compliance teams to translate business requirements into technical deliverables. Drive alignment on scope, timelines, and priorities across different initiatives.
- Mentor and Grow Engineering Talent: Serve as a technical mentor and coach to the team at all levels. Create development plans, support technical growth, and foster a culture of accountability, learning, and pride in craftsmanship.
- Financial & Vendor Management: Oversee financial planning for technology initiatives, review vendor contracts, and manage vendor roadmap alignments.
- Production Stability: Ensure system reliability and resilience through proactive monitoring, incident management, controlled change management and strategic improvements.
- Digital Banking: Provide technical leadership in building digital capabilities entailing modern integrations using APIs, cloud-native services adhering to architectural principles in mobile and online banking, including evaluating platform strategies and enhancing member experiences.
- Innovation & Improvement: As a technical leader, continuously evaluate opportunities for improvement in stability, innovative engineering techniques to simplify process and delivery of experiences.
- Risk & Compliance: Provide leadership in compliance and risk management to ensure adherence to best practices and regulatory standards.

QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience); Advanced degree preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in information technology, with expertise in application design and development.
- 7+ years of experience leading technology teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
- Financial products domain experience (e.g., Credit Cards, Mortgage, Auto Loans, Deposits) required.
- Experience managing large-scale technology platforms and engineering teams.
- Expertise in front end technologies like Angular/React/Javascript frameworks, iOS and Android development, designing APIs, cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and production stability strategies.
- Demonstrated ability to present to senior leadership and manage key stakeholders.
- Experience implementing and deploying online banking or mobile banking solutions from the ground up.
Desired Qualifications:
- Background in digital banking, knowledge of Deposits, Credit Cards and Loans products, including cloud migration and API modernization.
- Agile/Scrum delivery experience with a focus on engineering excellence and DevOps practices.
- Hands on knowledge of JavaScript frameworks such as Angular/React and mobile development with iOS/Android.
- Understanding of user experience design and the ability to collaborate with product teams to enhance member experiences.
