Material Handling Manager responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Managing warehouse and shipping functions
• Supervising assigned staff through subordinate shift supervisors to ensure that production schedules are met, staff is properly trained/cross-trained, and participating in the performance appraisal and discipline processes
• Managing warehouse and shipping operations to ensure that all products are properly stored in warehouses and trailers, appropriate inventory controls are maintained, and shipments are made according to schedule
• Developing changes in procedures, staffing levels, etc. to increase efficiency and cost effectiveness
• Ensuring that all operating machinery are properly maintained
• Overseeing customer complaint resolution process
• Managing staff of Supervisors and General Foreman and non-clerical employees
• Promoting a safe work environment
• Collaborating to improve plant productivity and increase efficiency
• Performing administrative duties and seeing that objectives are being met and communicating with management staff on project time-lines and tasks that need to be completed immediately
• Troubleshooting areas that might cause problems with production
• Other duties as assigned

This is a safety sensitive position. This is an on-site position.

Qualified candidates for Material Handling Manager position should possess the following:

• 5 or more years of experience in Material Handling

• Basic computer skills

• Staff management experience

• Ability to work successfully in both a team environment and independently

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Proven leadership experience in a team environment

• Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving abilities

• Ability to make good business decisions quickly

• Ability to manage projects to successful conclusion
