The EPIC Youth Hub is a newly established place dedicated to providing a safe, supportive, and engaging environment for young people. The Youth Hub is envisioned to be a one-stop site where they feel welcome to engage in systems that will help end their experience of homelessness/housing instability. Our purpose is to empower youth, encourage positive development, and foster a sense of belonging.

The Youth Hub System Navigator:

  • Help youth navigate and apply for food assistance programs such as SNAP, food banks, and community meal services.
  • Assist with applications for up to six months of rent arrears, up to three months of utility assistance, and storage/moving assistance.
  • Provide information on eligibility criteria and guide youth through application processes for financial aid, housing support, healthcare, and educational opportunities.
  • Support youth and young adults that are homeless or at risk of homelessness in developing action plans to address immediate needs and long-term goals.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local service providers and community organizations to ensure youth have access to essential resources.
  • Stay informed about available local, state, and federal assistance programs.
  • Assist in connecting youth to job training, internships, and employment opportunities.
  • Advocate for youth when interacting with service providers, ensuring their voices are heard and their needs are met.
  • Identify and address barriers youth may face in accessing services and resources.
  • Support youth in advocating for their rights and benefits with various agencies and institutions.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of youth interactions, support plans, and progress.
  • Collect data on service outcomes and assist in reporting to program managers and funding bodies.
  • Regularly assess the effectiveness of service delivery and recommend improvements as needed.
  • Foster a welcoming and supportive environment where youth and young adults feel comfortable seeking help.
  • Work closely with youth workers, counselors, and other team members to ensure coordinated support for youth.
  • Participate in regular team meetings to discuss youth progress, share insights, and implement best practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support organizational objectives.

            Qualifications and Requirements:

            • High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in social work, human services, or related field preferred.
            • Valid Driver's License.
            • Experience working with at-risk youth or in a community services setting is highly desirable.
            • Knowledge of local and national systems and resources available for youth, including food assistance, housing, mental health services, and employment programs.
            • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to build trust and rapport with youth from diverse backgrounds.
            • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
            • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
            • Proficiency in using computers and basic office software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Workspace).

            This position will require working a flexible work schedule that includes evenings and weekends depending on the needs of the clients served. Travel within the local community will be necessary to meet with service providers or attend training.
