This is the reasonably anticipated pay or pay range for this position currently: $111,900-$136,000

Job Summary:

The Applications Technical Lead is responsible for the delivery and support of assigned portfolio of business software applications and services used to market, transact, operate, administer and manage the company's business. Business software applications include: 1 - purchased (licensed) software solutions run internally; 2 - custom developed (in-house and out-sourced) software; 3 - Software-as-a-Service (cloud) solutions; 4 - integration between various software solutions; and 5 - business-to-business electronic data interchange with customers and suppliers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Develop, maintain, and support the BPCS ERP 6.02 and newer with a focus Shop Floor Control, MRP and Financials on IBM iSeries systems
  • Willingness to learn a new ERP platform, SAP MFG, EWM tec. is essential
  • Collaborate with other IT staff to integrate the BPCS ERP with other systems
  • Troubleshoot and resolve BPCS ERP issues
  • Enhance BPCS ERP solution to meet current and future business needs
  • Continue personal professional development in the areas of business and information technology.
  • Continue to keep up-to-date with business software application developments relevant to the company's business.
  • Cross-train on various business software applications and infrastructure used at the company.
  • Continue to expand knowledge of company's business.
  • Travel (which will include overnights) on occasion to company sites, external vendors and training sites.


Education and Experience:



  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or Engineering and at least 7 years of experience in Applications development; or a minimum of 10 of experience in Applications development.
  • Must have verifiable knowledge of, or experience, in the following areas: business analysis/re-engineering, application development life cycle, specification writing, IT project management, vendor management.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or distribution company preferred, but not required.
  • Experience working in a medium to large multi-location company, operating multiple shifts on a 7 x 24 basis, with a centralized IT function strongly preferred.


Skills and Competencies:



  • A deep understanding of the following technologies is required:

    • AS/SET ADK
    • IBM RPG/RPG ILE
    • IBM DB2
    • IBM SQL
    • IBM CLP
    • IBM iSeries OS
    • Microsoft Office


  • May be required to work on-call or weekends as needed
  • May be required to travel to customer sites as needed
  • Ability to react under pressure to any given situation that may arise, in a professional manner and with positive results, in support of a multi-location, 7 X 24 environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Strives to continuously build knowledge and skills
  • Establishes and maintains effective relationships
