Job Summary
  • Performs hands-on tasks that drive the success of construction projects related toroads, bridges, crushiing, culvert pipes,etc,all while adhering to safety guidelines and a willingness to learn.
Main Responsibilities
  • Safely operate tools and equipment, including, but not limited to on-road vehicles, jack-hammers, air compressors, skid plate tampers, shovels, rakes, brooms, and other hand tools
  • Assist with minor equipment maintenance and cleaning of construction equipment
  • Directs movement of traffic through site, using, signs, hands and flag signals
  • Maintains clean and organized working areas
  • Works closely with skilled laborers and craft workers to complete projects
  • Engages in multiple forms of physical labor necessary for completion of assigned construction projects
  • Applies the safety guidelines including the wearing of Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Carries out the work based on precise directives from their superiors.
  • Prepares the tools,the materials,necessary for the building of the structure and the workspace.
  • Makes procurements for the construction site if necessary.
  • Transports and stores equipment.
  • Ensures the cleanliness of the construction site.
Education
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Certifcations necessary as they apply
  • MSHA training preferred but not required
Skills
  • Previous experience in construction related field preferred
  • Ability to work with others in a professional manner
  • Ability to work independently and with a team
  • Ability to work under pressure of deadlines and problem solve
  • CPR and 1st Aid Certification preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Wears and maintains personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
  • Regularly required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with or without assistance
  • Ability to stand/work on feet for extended periods, walk on uneven terrain, use hands and fingers to manipulate objects or controls, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, see, and hear with frequent exposure to loud noise. Regularly exposed to all outdoor weather conditions, dust, and airborne particles.
  • Required to work varying hours with possible remote camp locations
  • Required to provide your own transportaion to jobsites
  • Valid driver's license with ability to maintain a clean driving history required
  • Required to pass pre-employment drug screening as well as a PAT (physical Ability Test) prior to starting work.
