Sr Manager, Cloud Platforms

Daikin Applied is seeking a talented Sr Manager, Cloud Platforms. The Senior Manager of Cloud Platforms will play a pivotal role in the transformation and advancement of cloud capabilities, digital technologies and system support and delivery. This role will lead the design, architecture, delivery, and lifecycle maintenance and management of large-scale production services and cloud infrastructure. The Senior Manager of Cloud Platforms will be responsible for ensuring the correct balance of strategy, technology, performance, and execution to ensure the success of the Digital Transformation strategy with outcomes-focused delivery for production, enterprise and products.

As a key leader, the Senior Manager of the Cloud Platforms will work closely with cross-functional teams, inside and outside of Digital, and will help ensure frictionless delivery of robust digital cloud-centric capabilities across Daikin Applied Americas. What you will do:

• Strategic Leadership:

• Define and deliver the organization's Cloud Platforms strategy and roadmap
• Develop systemic cloud capabilities, lifecycle management, and a delivery model aligned to production, enterprise and commercial digital product outcomes
• Provide thought leadership, advocate for a frictionless cloud delivery philosophy and delivery excellence across DAA

• Design and Architecture:

• Collaborate with cross functional stakeholders to design, deliver and continually evolve robust and scalable cloud platform solutions
• Ensure reliability and resilience within platform architectures, with a focus on fault tolerance, redundancy, high availability and assurance of continuous service delivery
• Provide mastery of requisite cloud services such as storage, databases, and compute that best suit organizational and business strategic objectives
• Develop systemic and technological solutions that scale, drive excellence, and balance the highest levels of performance, security, availability, and maximize the user experience

• Build & Delivery:

• Develop, evolve and continually deliver DAA Digital cloud platform systems
• Deliver full spectrum of tactical, technical and engineering and delivery domain knowledge, expertise, and excellence requisite to development and support of cloud platforms as well as supported technologies
• Develop, deliver and support but enterprise and revenue generating product applications and technologies in the DAA cloud platform space
• Provide thought leadership in the space of cloud platforms, collaborating with cross functional stakeholders to ensure cloud system deliver outcomes are achieved, aligned with Digital and business priorities

• Integration, Support, Maintenance and Transformation:

• Support and deliver streamlined integration systems and solutions, facilitating and ensuring the highest levels of interoperability, data integration, access, and connectivity
• Develop and support cloud migration and adoption strategies, with focus on applications, data, infrastructure and security, balancing workloads, system and data sensitivity, and business priorities
• Drive transformational excellence, including evaluation of readiness and dependencies, coordination, data transfer, platforming, testing, and cloud optimization
• Collaborate with cross functional teams to ensure compliance standards, implement and maintain controls, such as security and IAM, monitor for risks and conduct continual improvement initiatives

• Performance & Optimization:

• Establish monitoring frameworks and capabilities to track KPIs, utilization and service availability
• Leverage data to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, performance issues, and areas for optimization opportunity across the cloud infrastructure and supported applications and product systems
• Drive maximum performance utilization of resources, by rightsizing, managing proper workload distribution, optimizing application code, fine-tuning configurations and parameters
• Futureproof systems by planning for scalable outcomes and designing architectures that can accommodate growth and high performance requirements

• Team Leadership:

• Foster collaboration and exhibit leadership as a senior member of an advanced digital team, fostering growth and technical excellence
• Provide mentorship, guidance, and training to cross-functional teams on cloud platforms best practices

• Stakeholder Collaboration:

• Partner with all Digital and DAA stakeholders to ensure mutual success of cross-functional missions and business priorities
• Communicate cloud platform initiatives and strategies effectively to executive leadership and external stakeholders

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field or requisite experience and training
• 10+ years of experience in technical delivery
• 5+ years experience in a strategic role focused on cloud platforms
• Understanding of cloud system architecture, with a diversity of cloud system domain knowledge
• Broad-based knowledge of cloud system components and services, such as
  
  
  
  • compute services, cloud-based IAM, virtual server hosting, cloud-based relational databases, dev tools, and much more
  
  
  
  
• Broad-based understanding and domain expertise of a range of systems, programming languages, hardware and software
• Cloud Platforms experience and domain expertise, including:
  
  
  
  • large clusters/cloud systems
  • large scale production services
  • local cloud cluster infrastructure
  
  
  
  
• Strong data engineering experience and domain expertise
• Strong experience with cybersecurity processes, procedures, delivery, resource management, audit, continual improvement, metrics, KPIs, and reporting

Preferred Qualifications:

• Masters degree in computer science, management or related field

• Industry Experience: Demonstrated success in commercial HVAC and controls. Direct experience supporting customer requirements, channel, dealers, and distributors is a plus
• Domain-specific certifications and achievements a plus
• Experience with Agile, ADO, PMO, etc.

The typical annual base salary for this position ranges from $126,100 - $215,000 (+ 25-30% bonus) in Minnesota. The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
