Job Description:

PRIMARY PURPOSE/GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The role of the Facilitator is to provide mentoring, lead discussions, and engage in aspects of the curriculum as well as deliver co-curricular presentations.This individual must be a team player with the ability to communicate effectively with faculty and high school students, in addition to exercising a high level of maturity and integrity.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

This information is intended to be a descriptive of the key responsibilities of the position.The list of essential functions below does not identify all duties performed by any single incumbent in this position.

  • Reports to both the program and head curricular directors.
  • Collaborates closely with faculty to plan and teach in the academic program.
  • Lives in residence hall with student participants for program's duration.
  • Works closely with student participants in classroom assignments and projects by providing group and individualized assistance as needed; must be able to individually lead small group discussions.
  • Leads and/or co-leads portions of the co-curricular component.
  • Chaperones sponsored activities on and off campus.
  • Attends all training and staff meetings.
  • Support students and operations as needed.
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned.
  • Active support for the College's Principles of Community and Principles of Diversity in the performance of job duties
  • During program duration, there will be limited release time allotted (mornings/evenings).
  • Facilitate a non-credit elective course

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

Individual must possess knowledge, skills and ability to be able to successfully perform the essential functions of the position, or be able to explain or demonstrate how the essential functions will be performed, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must be customer service oriented with excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to manage tasks and deadlines.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma required or any combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and ability to perform the job.

Experience working with first generation students from underserved communities is preferred.

HOURS & CLASSIFICATION AND STATUS:

This is a temporary status, full-time, non-benefits eligible, non-exempt position.

Hours will vary based upon the needs of the department, but will usually be scheduled for 2:00 pm- 11:00 pm. This assignment is anticipated to begin on or around May 8, 2025 and is expected to end on or before June 28, 2025.

Hourly rate: $16.50. The hourly rate of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty, andtraining.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

None.
