Position: Benefits Manager Location: Columbus, OH Benefits Manager The Benefits Manager is a key member of the HR team and provides specialized leadership for OTC's health and welfare and retirement benefits as well as leave administration. She/he will provide direction both for the overall management of benefits across the company as well as assist with due diligence and integration of acquisitions. She/he will be responsible for review and evaluation of benefits, plan management, benchmarking, cost analysis, vendor management, data integrity, employee communications and overall benefit processes. This role will also include benefits administration and development of new benefit offerings. He/she will partner with other HR team members, consultants as well as other stakeholders as appropriate across the company. She/he will have a customer service focus while maintaining standardization of process, overall quality, and continuous process improvement. The position responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Provide management, planning and accountability for benefits function
- Ensure proper administration and communication for all benefit plans (i.e. system set up, open enrollment and onboarding, employee inquiries, billing process, data integrity, etc.)
- Analyze benchmark information and recommend changes to current vendors and plans including cost analysis
- Lead the development, implementation, communication and delivery of wellbeing initiatives
- Work closely with benefits consultant and vendors to ensure effective and seamless employee experience
- Manage retirement plan, including all employee and payroll data between payroll/HRIS and recordkeeper, contribution and loan reconciliation and annual audit process.
- Administer and manage leave process in conjunction with 3rd party administrator.
- Participate in all benefit matters in the M&A process from due diligence through integration.
- Ensure all legal and compliance standards are met or exceeded
- Maintain technical expertise by staying abreast of emerging benefit trends
The qualifications for this position include:
- 7+ years in benefits management, preferably in a large corporation
- Advanced employee benefits experience in processes and requirements for health and welfare, retirement and leave benefits
- Experience with due diligence and acquisitions from a benefits perspective
- Hands-on experience with HR and benefits software (ADP preferred)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities
- Highly analytical and precise mindset
- Exemplary customer service skills, including critical thinking and problem-solving skills
