PLI is searching for a professional to fill the role of Receptionist and Conference Assistant, California Conference Center (responsibilities and qualifications are described below). KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Program Days
- Responsible for opening the CA Conference Center and registration/set up for program days, first point of contact for faculty and attendees.
- Receive and set up breakfast catering, make coffee/tea/water. Ensure the reception area is well stocked.
- Check the setup of the Main Conference Room (iPads plugged in/charging, dais clean and stocked for faculty) and Faculty Green Room.
- Check program kit email threads for any last-minute changes, print or update the program kit as needed, including all updates from the Program Team.
- Check WMS for overnight registrations and updating the sign-in sheet as needed.
- Print faculty placards for the program and have opening segment set up on the dais. Assist faculty with reasonable print needs, as requested.
- Greet/check-in faculty and attendees upon arrival and answer questions attendees/faculty have through the day. Assist with prompting and escorting faculty from Green Room to Conference Center during program.
- Direct faculty and guests to office space, quiet room, or tech-enabled areas outside of the Conference Center, upon request.
- Assist with registering faculty complimentary registrations or day-of registrations.
- Contact Membership or Customer Service for attendee questions related to their PLI accounts.
- Preferred Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 7AM -3PM, On-Site
Non-Program Days
- Prepare reception space for upcoming programs or rentals, print faculty badges or other program materials, as needed.
- Provide tour and walkthrough of California Conference Center for potential rental customers.
- Assist with monitoring the SF rental email inbox and responding in a timely manner.
- Receive mail/packages and distribute accordingly.
- Obtain California Food Handler's certification (PLI will cover the costs of training and membership).
Additional tasks:
- Keep up-to-date on first aid, floor warden, and other disaster preparedness certifications as required by the building.
- Keep emergency supplies stocked in designated areas.
- Restock registration desk area with emergency, cleaning, and PLI branded supplies as needed, working with NY to order supplies.
- Clean/dust reception area surfaces and shelves.
- Assist with program related tasks and entries, as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2 - 5 years of customer service or front desk experience
- Accuracy and attention to detail regarding administrative tasks with strong follow up skills
- Ability to maintain a polished, professional demeanor and phone manner at all times
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Dependability with regard to punctuality and attendance
- Ability to work collaboratively with a positive attitude
- Proficiency in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office Suite, is required
- Food Handler Serv Safe certification desired, but can be obtained after hire

COMPENSATION RANGE FOR THIS POSITION $24-$30 per hour based on a 35-hour work week (Exact compensation offer may vary based on the candidate's job-related skills and work experience.)
