Join us! As our next Continuous Improvement Manager Carthage, reporting to the Head of Operations, Carthage, you will apply and spread continuous improvement knowledge in your respective unit and build the required CI capabilities through training and certification. As the CI Manager, you will lead the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives within your assigned department to embed best practices, reinforce a continuous improvement mindset and streamline non-value-added activities. This position is located in Carthage Site in Cincinnati.

In this exciting role, you will be responsible for:

Business Alignment

Help design site strategies while ensuring the alignment of global, regional, and functional strategies into the site strategy. This includes selection, prioritization of improvement initiatives, resource allocation and execution timeline Setup strategy deployment governance at the departmental and departmental level to ensure execution.

People Engagement

Establish a positive first contact with CI for all employees and enable engagement

Promote good practices sharing in teamwork

Introduce and coach Visual Performance Management System as universal practice for everyone to manage performance for all departments.

Capability Building

Develop people by delivering training, coaching and mentoring for all CI Methodologies

Mentor and coach belts, and manage the certification and recognition events.

Problem Solving

Coach project teams in applying problem solving (root cause analysis) to develop solutions, initiate change or lead complex PS workshops when needed

Support teams to identify problems that must be solved using right CI Methodology and Tools

Setup a tollgate review governance for Site improvement projects.

Performance Management

Set up and support the implementation of daily/weekly/ monthly performance management reviews at shift, department and site level including the definition of lagging and leading indicators.

Continuous Improvement Maturity Assessment (CIMA)

Train, coach, and assess the area of responsibility or site/cluster/function in the CIMA Excellence maturity journey.

Process Efficiency

Train, coach and inspire teams in applying relevant CI tools and methodologies for improving E2E value stream processes and asset efficiencies

Is able to manage debottlenecking and level loading on the ground

Is comfortable with process analysis and identifying opportunities

Partner with the local process owners and regional/global process experts to develop and apply solutions and good practices at site level.

Work Standard

Support process owners in the development of CI-related work standards;

Enable teams to apply and comply with work standards (e.g. SOPs, OPLs);

Promote good practice and the sharing of work standards.

Business Impact

Lead or support specific business improvement projects

Manage the pipeline of improvement projects to provide impact and track strategic progress at department level Promote implementation progress of approved CI projects and programs by monitoring resource plans, project team accountabilities, change requests, deadlines, milestones and manage updates to partners.

Responsible for consolidation of the financial and non-financial benefits at department level.

Required Qualifications:



  • University degree: Industrial Engineering or in Food, Chemical, Mechanical Engineering with Operations focus or related.
  • Green Belt certification or equivalent
  • Overall work experience of 4 to 7 years including of which at least 2-3 years in a Lean Six Sigma implementation role
  • Experience leading improvement projects, training, coaching, assessing
  • Exposure to cross-functional teams and projects.
