DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will monitor and report on inmates' progress toward achieving therapeutic recreation goals while contributing to the planning, development, and implementation of individual and group therapeutic programs. You will conduct formal assessments to create personalized therapeutic objectives for review by a multidisciplinary treatment team, determining methods to achieve these goals and ensuring inmate activities align with other treatment disciplines. Additionally, you will lead therapeutic recreation programs, provide instruction and support to inmates, evaluate program effectiveness, and recommend adjustments to meet individual needs. Participation in crisis intervention and resolution is also a key aspect of this position.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 40-hour work week
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
A bachelor's degree with major coursework in therapeutic recreation; physical education; vocational rehabilitation; vocational education or counseling; art, music, dance, or occupational therapies; or a related human services field; or Four years of experience providing therapeutic activities for individuals with physical, medical, or cognitive disabilities; or An equivalent combination of experience and training. Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within three months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
Other Requirements:
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.

- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
