Overview

As part of our global team, you will work on various components as a Software Engineer. Your role includes specification, development, as well as the testing and rollout of new features. You are expected to contribute to the vision, understand our product roadmap, integrate business value with experience and contribute to building an engineering culture within the team. We expect the successful Vice President to deliver high quality software and to be passionate about software engineering. You must have a proficient understanding of software development concepts.

What You'll Do

  • Write quality code, unit, functional, and behavior driven development (or design) [BDD] based test scenarios, while building clear interfaces and abstractions, schemas and models for data storage an access, HTTP REST services, as well as applications including streaming and producer consumer

  • Identifying non-functional requirement in addition to choosing and implementing tech stack and frameworks

  • Help writing stories and acceptance criteria, while instituting DevOps best practices (Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (or Development) [CI/CD], Automation etc..)

  • Integrate application monitoring into processes, as well as ensuring consistent Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process adherence

  • Work alongside DevOps on deployment automation

How You'll Lead

  • Responsible for their teams adherence to key design principles and target application architecture in alignment with overall Corporate F2B architecture

  • Aid in development and growth of the team through code reviews

Skills You'll Need

  • Extensive technical development experience

  • Bachelor's and/ or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or Information Technology

  • Experience working with enterprise architecture patterns and solid working knowledge of enterprise architecture best practices, Core Java (Data Structures, Algorithms and Design), using concurrent program - multithreading, executors, locks and other techniques, with Object Oriented Design and Functional programming (Java, Scala), Deployment automation CI/CD (Jenkins preferred, team-city) building messaging/event applications(Kafka, JMS MQ), and developing applications for relational databases using 3NF, complex queries, indexing (Oracle, MySQL), securing applications (ACLs, SSL, JWT, Oauth etc)

  • Familiarity with containerization / virtualization - Docker / Kubernetes etc

  • Hands on experience with automated testing (Junit, Mockito, BDD (serenity cucumber), WebService, Microservice design, Service-oriented architecture (SOA) (spring preferred) with experience in Scalable infrastructure models (Cloud, SaaS, Openshift, PaaS etc), NoSQL storage (Mongo, Cassandra, ElasticSearch), Application profiling, performance monitoring, tracing, and implementing applications onto Cloud Platform (AWS/Azure/Goggle Cloud Platform (GCP))

Skills That Will Help You Excel

  • Good communication skills with effective organizational skills and structured approach to problem solving and strong analytical skills

  • Self-starter and a go getter with proven ability to perform 3 level support as the developed component moves to the production

  • Strong MS-Office skills and experience with modern SDLC tools - JIRA, SharePoint, Confluence - is a plus

  • Agile delivery knowledge and Google Cloud Platform experience is an added advantage

  • You stay current on technical trends to suggest innovative tools and approaches to interesting problems, as well as share your expertise with the entire Engineering organization

Expectations

It is the Bank's expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the Cary office in accordance with the Bank's hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in Cary is $125,000 to $185,000.Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.
