What you'll be doing...

A technical expert in emerging technology, using technical expertise to help develop complex solutions for Verizon customers. This role provides Verizon Tier 1 Solution Architects and Verizon customers the knowledge of Verizon Wave and Dark Fiber offerings.

The candidate will be working on items such as (but not limited to):

  • Verizon network solutions at Layer 1 with knowledge of the wave and dark fiber offerings. This includes advisement, conducting needs analysis, developing appropriate solutions, and executing on network designs.

  • Understanding of networks solutions that incorporate optic switching, ROADM and wavelengths is required.

  • Work with product development and product marketing, contributing in setting the strategy and defining the roadmap for the wave and dark fiber offerings.

  • Serving as the technical design authority and architectural expert for sales opportunities across multiple vertical and geographic regions

  • Selling company products and services to generate sales and revenue by developing client relationships and connecting customers with targeted solutions.

  • Designing and delivering advanced solutions and engaging customers and stakeholders throughout the sales cycle by providing ongoing technical, advisory, consultative or project management support to customers.

  • Designing and delivering advanced solutions to help move the sales process forward and win business.

  • pre-sale oriented in creation of Reference Architecture with the customer use case for desired outcomes, providing technical expertise and engaging customers and stakeholders over the course of the sales cycle.

Accountabilities

  • Work with customers on complex, custom, and transformational business engagements which leverage Verizon's assets, services, and partner ecosystem to drive business outcomes and long-

  • term customer strategies.

  • Work with the product development and marketing team on strategy and roadmaps.

  • Develop and provide expertise in the global Enterprise and Public Sector markets, on Verizon wave and dark fiber offerings, in close alignment with your peers.

  • Lead the development of standard architecture designs, standard design templates and other standard specifications that help with automation, makes Tier 1 SA more self-sufficient, and simplify and accelerate the sale cycle.

  • Design modern connectivity solutions, including complex diversity and network reliability as features and capabilities that help customers meet their expressed business outcomes

  • Experience architecting and developing large infrastructure and network solutions for enterprise customers.

  • Author internal and external documents, white papers, blogs, and other materials that help internal Sales and Verizon customers better understand Verizon offerings and possible use cases.

  • Stay informed of regulatory and compliance requirements changes and adapt our reference architectures accordingly.

  • Act as a trusted, unbiased advisor to customers, providing strategic insights to help achieve their business goals through our technology.

  • Effectively supporting sales efforts with technical presentations and demonstrations at customer meetings.

  • Develop deep relationships with your customers while getting to know their businesses, markets, and the challenges they face, leading to the design of complex solutions.

  • Play a key partnership role to the field sales team as a technical advisor focused on driving business results for both Verizon and Verizon's clients.

What we're looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Eight or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • A degree.

  • Experience in these fields: OTN standards, 400GBASE-LR4 interfaces, IEEE standard.

  • Experience in GenAI and associated prompt engineering.

  • Experience in Core Networking technologies

  • Experience in fiber optic detailed network design.

  • Understanding of current fiber optic design standards and industry process

  • Possess communication (verbal/written) skills; including experience producing and delivering presentations to all levels of management across the organization.

  • Ability to create short and long-term strategies.

  • Be a strategic and analytical thinker who can analyze data to make appropriate process/business decisions/recommendations and shape business strategy.

  • Ability to meet timelines, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, customer and team-oriented work environment while meeting deadlines.

  • Be results-oriented, strong sense of urgency, proactive and flexible.

If you are hired into a California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, Washington or Washington, D.C. work location, the compensation range for this position is between $145,000.00 and $270,000.00 annually based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
