Perioperative Support Equipment Coordinator Responsibilities



  • Troubleshoots operational problems with equipment during set up and operation.
  • Disassembles, cleans, and assembles equipment in accordance with department, vendor, biomed and infection control policies, and procedures.
  • Maintains an up-to-date list of all department equipment.
  • Conducts a monthly assessment of the physical facility to identify needed repairs and problems.
  • Works with Biomedical Engineering to coordinate equipment maintenance, repairs, and new equipment checks.
  • Consistently and accurately performs testing and calibration on equipment according to department and vendor standards.
  • Set up rooms for the next day with standard equipment.
  • Provides input regarding equipment needs and helps to coordinate and monitor facility projects as needed.
  • Audits room set-up and ensures all specialty equipment is operational.
  • Supports the Periop Support team as indicated.
  • Supports additional projects and duties as assigned.


Perioperative Support Equipment Coordinator Requirements



  • Certification - Basic Life Support Upon Start Licensure
  • Experience - 2 Healthcare/Hospitality Two years of OR hospital experience to include at least one year of surgical equipment experience
  • Education - High School or GED KSAs
  • Communication / Critical Thinking * Excellent verbal and computer communication skills.* Team building ability, delegation, and conflict resolution skills. / * Ability to deal with multiple tasks in a rapidly changing environment. * Knowledge of equipment and materials used in an operating room setting.
