Position Summary |
Employer Outreach and Marketing
Establish and maintain relationships with prospective corporate employers in order to promote recruiting opportunities.
Collaborate with other
WSSU organizations to manage job fairs and promotional events aimed at internships and full-time job placements.
Consistent interactions with executives and recruiters, hiring managers, students alumni, and faculty/staff.
Plan and present recruiting-related programs for students.
Manage and grow the Career Development Services corporate engagement strategy.
Coaching
Advise and coach students in one-on-one and group settings (including workshops and class presentations) to include but not limited to resume reviews, mock interviews, career and major exploration/career assessments, professional career transition topics, and job and graduate school search strategies.
Oversee and monitor computerized student information systems
Communicate and maintain systems data management for all scheduling, interviews and job postings, create and generate a range or recruiting and reporting tools to facilitate the application and interview process; oversee communications between students and employers; develop marketing materials including recruiting related web documentation.
Compose and mange the content and timing of communications to students via client manager systems.
Assessment and Research
Continuous assessment of programs will be required to determine student learning outcomes and to facilitate continuous improvements.
Conduct bench marking research with peer institutions and outreach to alumni and other industry leaders to stay ahead of career services and industry trends and ensure students are educated about recruiting processes and timelines and position requirements. |

Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent plus 2-3 years' related experience.
Strong work ethic, integrity and personal accountability; ability to use independent judgment, manage sensitive information, and maintain confidentiality of information.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and time management skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
Ability to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner.
Must be detail-oriented with excellent organizational and project management skills; ability to effectively manage competing priorities.
Ability to engage and build relationships with industry, corporate, and non-profit representatives that enhance or increase opportunities for students and the institution.
Ability to excel in a fast paced, deadline driven environment; self-directed with the ability to work collaboratively or individually.

Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education |
Master's degree in student personnel administration, business/public administration or related areas.
Four to five years of relevant experience in higher education,
Previous experience in recruiting, sales, staffing agency or business development roles, recruiting, or human resources. |
