Business Performance Manager

The Business Performance Manager is responsible for managing business processes within engine sales and providing the overall framework and structure for efficiency. This individual evaluates, designs, measures, monitors, and controls business processes related to engine sales and works to ensure they align with strategic goals and objectives, control standardizations, and are sustainable.

The incumbent in this position is expected to model the following practices daily: 1) Demonstrate alignment with the company's mission and core business values; 2) Collaborate with key internal/external resources; Participate in ongoing self- development.

Essential Functions:


  • Hires, develops, evaluates, and influences effective and consistent productivity and teamwork to ensure the delivery of Legendary Customer Service (LCS)

  • Models, promotes, reinforces, and rewards the consistent use of HOLT's Values Based Leadership (VBL) tools, models, and processes to ensure alignment with our Vision, Values, and Mission

  • Identify opportunities to meet and improve upon customer experiences, reduce cycle times and costs, and increase profits within engine sales; Effectively control identified business processes related to engine sales and sustain over time; Evaluate processes at a regular interval for optimization

  • Manage development and maintenance of methods and systems for measuring degree to which project goals, objectives and metrics are being met; Provide internal and external business performance reporting

  • Lead lean process improvement projects and keep projects moving toward completion and desired results

  • Work in coordination with Sales and Engineering teams to achieve Continuous Improvement goals and objectives

  • Ensures optimal team performance and capability by ongoing Values Based Leadership, effective coaching, and support of ongoing employee development

  • Assigns, delegates, and coordinates work to ensure department objectives are met

  • Works safely always and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards

  • Performs other duties as assigned



Additional Key Responsibilities:


  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement long-term business strategies and performance goals in alignment with company vision.

  • Performance Analysis: Conduct regular performance reviews, analyzing business metrics, and identifying trends to drive improvements.

  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Oversee budgeting processes, financial forecasting, and cost management to maximize profitability.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with departments such as Service, Continuous Improvement (CI), HR, marketing, finance, and operations to ensure cross-functional alignment and efficiency in achieving business objectives.

  • Change Management: Lead and manage change initiatives, ensuring smooth transitions and employee engagement during organizational changes.

  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks to the business and implement mitigation strategies to safeguard performance.

  • Technology Proficiency: Familiarity with business management and performance monitoring software (e.g., ERP systems, CRM tools, business intelligence platforms).

  • Decision-Making and Analytical Thinking: Strong ability to evaluate complex business issues and make decisions that drive measurable improvements.



Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


  • Comprehensive knowledge of CAT products and the Power Systems Industry

  • Knowledge and expertise of Microsoft Office Products - Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint

  • Exceptional independent judgement skills using common sense and other learned principles to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

  • Exceptional organizational, time management, multi-tasking, and project management skills

  • Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences

  • Ability to work with, collaborate with, and lead individuals and groups by engaging in effective and persuasive discussions on complex topics

  • Demonstrated expertise in managing day-to-day operations along with overseeing special projects

  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Ability to use data analytics tools to derive actionable insights and make informed business decisions.

  • Advanced Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of financial statements, profitability analysis, and cost management.

  • Change Leadership: Expertise in leading through change, fostering an adaptable and resilient work culture.

  • Conflict Resolution: Ability to manage conflicts effectively and maintain a collaborative, high-performing environment.



Education and Experience:


  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration or related field required or 6 years of experience in related field required

  • 2-4 years of demonstrated hands-on experience in process improvement or continuous improvement preferred

  • Manufacturing or Power Generation background preferred

  • Six Sigma training preferred

  • Successful experience in leading/managing a team required



Supervisory Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; coaching and development; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Travel:


  • Up to 50% travel as needed is to be expected



Physical Requirements:


  • This position involves extended periods in a stationary position; additionally, occasional standing, walking, and stooping

  • Constant movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina

  • Occasionally moves materials or equipment weighing up to 20

  • This role frequently communicates with others, must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations

  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines



Work Environment:


  • This job is generally performed in a professional office environment

  • Occasionally works outdoors and noise level may be loud at times

  • Occasional exposure to hazardous conditions and equipment

  • Occasional exposure to extremely bright or inadequate lighting

  • Frequently works at fast pace with unscheduled interruptions
