Job Title: Sr. Electrical Hardware Design Engineer

Job Location: Sterling Heights, MI

Hourly Rate: Up to $97hr depending on experience.

On-site presence: Hybrid - Due to the nature of the work, this role may require on-site presence up to 90%.

Job Summary:

We currently have an exciting possible Temp-to-Perm opportunity in Sterling Heights, MI for a Sr. Electrical Hardware Design Engineer responsible for generating requirements and the design, debug, and test of ruggedized electrical hardware circuit boards and assemblies for a Military Vehicle Program.


Job Description:


  • The Electrical Hardware Design Engineer - Computing and Interface Products will be responsible for generating requirements and the design, debug, and test of ruggedized electrical hardware circuit boards and assemblies.
  • Design and Develop Electrical Components and Subsystems for Processing and Interface Products.
  • Concept to production delivery support including design, debug, test, and qualification.
  • Support system architecture analysis, trade studies, and participate in associated engineering reviews.
  • Review and develop Hardware and Software requirement documents and test plans.
  • Support circuit design, component selection, procurement, and prototype hardware debug and builds.
  • Develop Engineering Design Fixes, and Coordinate Solutions.
  • Strong record keeping skills with commitment to tracking design changes, debug status, Hardware and Software revisions.


Required:


  • Ability to use Engineering Development and Test Tools.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Strong multi-tasking skills.
  • The candidate will need to have strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Knowledge in many, but not all, of the following areas:

    • Digital and Analog design including power and thermal analysis.
    • Schematic development, component selection, circuit simulation, and PCB layout
    • Microprocessor based products and Single Board Form Factors: Intel, AMD, ARM, VPX, VME, COM Express.
    • Embedded Microcontroller H/W and programming skills (C, C++, Visual Studio)
    • Industry standard interfaces and products (PCle, DDRxx, USB, SATA, RS422/485, MIL-1553, Ethernet, CAN, RS422/485, Solid State Drives)
    • Graphics/video interfaces (HDMI, DisplayPort, HD-SDI, RS-170, LVDS)
    • FPGA Design and Simulation (Xilinx Toolsets)
    • EMI/EMC, High Speed Signal Integrity design practices
    • Military design and test requirements including MIL-1275, MIL-461, MIL-464, MIL-810
    • Six Sigma design tools including DFMEA and Reliability Analysis


  • Must be able to work occasional evening and/or weekend overtime as required.


Education:


  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineer or Computer Engineering.


Preferred:


  • Previous experience working on Ground Combat Vehicles is a plus.

  • Must be U.S. Citizen - "Must be able to meet ITAR requirements, including US citizenship to be considered for this role."
  • This position may require eligibility to obtain a clearance.
