This individual will source, screen, and hire top technical talent for roles such as engineers, skilled trades, machine operators, and maintenance technicians. With expertise in manufacturing industry, they will collaborate with hiring managers to attract and retain the best candidates. This role involves managing the full recruitment cycle, from job posting to onboarding, while focusing on operational efficiency and meeting hiring goals. Strong communication, technical recruiting skills, and a proactive sourcing approach are essential.
Required Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
- Minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in technical recruiting, specifically in manufacturing environments.
- In-depth expertise in sourcing, recruiting, and placing candidates in highly specialized technical roles within manufacturing, including engineering, production, quality assurance, maintenance, and skilled trades.
- Strong technical knowledge of the roles, responsibilities, and skill sets required for positions within the manufacturing sector, with a focus on understanding the technical requirements of each position.
- Proven track record of successfully recruiting for high-demand technical roles such as mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, maintenance technicians, and production specialists.
- Extensive experience utilizing advanced recruiting tools and techniques, including sourcing through technical job boards, social media platforms (LinkedIn, GitHub, Stack Overflow, etc.), networking within technical communities, and engaging passive candidates with specialized skills.
- Expert in leveraging Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and recruitment CRM tools to streamline the recruitment process, track candidate pipelines, and ensure efficient management of recruitment workflows.
- Demonstrated ability to screen, interview, and assess technical candidates based on specific competencies, technical knowledge, and cultural fit within a manufacturing environment.
- Solid understanding of labor market trends in the manufacturing industry, specifically in identifying talent within competitive markets for highly technical roles.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is required.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
- Experience managing recruitment for high-volume or complex technical roles in a fast-paced, high-demand manufacturing environment.
- Advanced knowledge of emerging technologies, tools, and systems within the manufacturing industry, especially in areas like automation, robotics, and Industry 4.0.
- Ability to work in and adapt quickly to fast-changing, high-pressure environments while maintaining a strong focus on quality and efficiency in recruitment efforts.
- Certifications (Preferred): SHRM-CP, PHR, or other technical recruiting certifications are a plus.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead the end-to-end recruitment process for technical roles within the aluminum manufacturing plant, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and onboarding.
- Partner with department heads and hiring managers to understand the technical needs of each team and develop hiring strategies.
- Use a variety of sourcing methods (job boards, social media, professional organizations, industry events, and recruitment agencies) to build a strong pipeline of candidates, particularly for specialized technical and manufacturing roles.
- Conduct technical interviews and assessments to evaluate candidates' qualifications, including knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, engineering principles, and safety standards.
- Track, measure, and report on recruiting metrics such as time-to-fill, cost-per-hire, and candidate quality.
- Promote the company's values, culture, and commitment to innovation to attract high-caliber candidates.
- Medium travel (25-30%) is expected for this position.
