DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Wildlife Habitat Group Manager, you will be responsible for planning and overseeing habitat projects, game lands maintenance, infrastructure construction and maintenance, equipment acquisition, as well as other projects and programs within the habitat management group. Excellent leadership skills are vital, as you will perform a full range of supervisory functions to include performance reviews, conducting interviews and candidate selection, tending to leave requests, disciplinary actions, and more. You will have the opportunity to complete a wide variety of duties including investigating work-related accidents or incidents, establishing workload priorities, preparing and submitting grant applications for supplemental funding for projects, and administering the budget for the group. Work also includes initiating and recommending acquisition of new game lands or additions to existing game lands which involves researching property owners and deeds as well as contacting landowners for potential acquisition of properties and negotiating conditions. - Full-time employment, home headquartered, 40 hours per week
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of professional natural resource management experience; and a bachelor's degree in natural resource management, parks and recreation, biology, forestry, ecology, geosciences, environmental sciences, wildlife management, or a closely related field; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirements:
- You must possess an active motor vehicle operator's license.
- You must obtain a Pennsylvania Pesticide Applicator certification within the employee probationary period.
- You must successfully complete Wildland Type 2 Firefighter (FFT2) training, including successfully completing a Moderate (or Arduous) level Work Capacity Test (WCT) within the employee probationary period.
Additional Requirements:
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
- Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
