DESCRIPTION OF WORK
-
In this role, you will support the Bureau of Abandoned Mine Reclamation in the operation and maintenance of the active acid mine drainage treatment, aimed at mitigating and controlling acid mine drainage. Your responsibilities will include operating the lime feed system to ensure the correct amount of slurry is added for effective neutralization of influent water, thereby maintaining the appropriate pH and alkalinity levels in the effluent. Additionally, you will collect and analyze water samples to ensure the treatment process operates efficiently, documenting your findings in the daily report. You will also be tasked with repairing motors, mixers, pumps, and other equipment related to the processing of acid mine drainage. Furthermore, you will enter relevant data in a specified format to comply with the data quality standards established by guidance, training, and policies across all the DEP's electronic data systems.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $35,306.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of experience in laboring work including the use of tools and equipment used in maintenance or construction; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Conditions of Employment:
- This position requires possession of a valid PA non-commercial Class C driver's license or equivalent.
Other Requirements:
