DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Maintenance Repairman 1, you will work under the direct supervision of the Highway Foreman and assist the Maintenance Repairman 2 in various skilled trades tasks related to construction and finishing. This includes creating rough plans, estimating materials, selecting tools, and performing tasks like measuring, cutting, placing, and finishing materials. You will also be responsible for ordering and pouring concrete, constructing structures like railings, stairs, partitions, ramps, shelves, and inlets. Additionally, you will engage in manual labor using both motorized and non-motorized hand tools, ensuring proper tool usage and reporting any missing or damaged equipment. Your role includes the task of maintaining a safe work environment through the adherence of safety procedures and utilization of protective gear. This involves conducting visual inspections, making necessary adjustments, and documenting the findings. It is crucial to stay alert to prevent accidents, promptly report any incidents, and seek medical attention to prevent further harm.

- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Dual shifts in effect November through March.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $35,306.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of experience in general maintenance work which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.
Special Requirements:
- This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.
Other Requirements:
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
