DESCRIPTION OF WORK

Snyder County Children and Youth Services' casework supervisors serve as part of a dynamic leadership team which directly supervises staff who provide child welfare services. Responsibilities of this role will include overseeing the process of assessing initial and ongoing risk to all children within a family, providing guidance and direction to caseworkers as they identify the most appropriate level of agency intervention and services needed, and assuring compliance and effective interpretation of all laws, regulations, policies, and procedures related to child welfare. Your work will be instrumental in positively coaching direct service staff members and ensuring consistency in the day-to-day decision making processes in order to achieve the best possible outcomes for children and their families. Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of professional experience in public or private social work and a bachelor's degree with major course work in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and education which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences.

- Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Snyder County. If no eligible candidates who live within Snyder County apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- You must pass a background investigation.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
- Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
