How You'll Help Transform Healthcare:
Transports, coordinates, administers, implements and assists in the development of the bed supply support system which operates efficiently and meets the needs of the patient and the site/organization. Uses computers and wireless technology for docuentation of bed supply and maintenance. Assists with movement of beds, stretchers, other various transport devices and supplies.
- Plans, directs and coordinates daily bed work flow in the hospital environment. In addition, prioritizes bed delivery with multiple departments to manage consistent and productive patient throughput. Transports beds, stretchers, various transport devices and supplies to various locations within the hospital environment utilizing proper body mechanics.
- Able to work independently. Adapts to fluctuation in work demands by adjusting scheduling based on projected patient flow. Makes recommendations to management based on identified trends.
- Maintains thorough knowledge of Clinical information systems for data entry and retrieval. Inputs, maintains, updates and monitors bed transport documentation.
- Demonstrates thorough and complete documentation skills. Appropriately reports fluctuations in bed supply and demand. Prepares routine and non-routine special reports including gathering and summarizing data. Provides administrative support to the management team through requested meetings and in the form of requested reports including supply utilization analysis and economic analysis.
- Assists in coordinating orientation processes for new staff. Completes appropriate documentation and feedback in conjunction with leadership to orientee.
- Is responsible for assigned Distribution budgetary goals and departmental performance indicators or statistics.
- May be responsible for the training and execution related to these product lines and other lines assigned.
- Maintains a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment for patients, families and coworkers in accordance with hospital standards. Knowledgeable of patient's rights and respects the rights of the patient to include accepting or refusing medical care.
- Acts as an advocate for team cohesion and cooperation. Supports Clinical Transport Management in the execution of daily department priorities. Supports fellow coworkers to help drive performance in their areas, supporting overall team and department performance.
- Contributes to Carilion Clinic's performance improvement activities. Actively participates in obtaining desired service line/ departmental operational excellence targets.
What We Require:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree desired
Experience: Minimum four (4) years healthcare experience desired.
Other Minimum Qualifications: Effective interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills required. Must successfully complete orientation and competency validation for position. Strong communication skills & ability to work with others in a team setting. Proficiencies in Microsoft Office, spreadsheet management. Ability to act independently with minimum supervision. Ability to perform repetitive tasks for long periods of time. Ability to perform in a continually changing environment with tight deadlines.
