This unique Senior Accountant & Controls position offers an exciting opportunity to be a key voice in shaping the future of the joint venture between UHC and Warburg Pincus, an exciting new partnership that will become an independent company.

This individual will maintain general ledger accounts and related activities for the production of financial statements and reports. Performs account reconciliations and analyses, prepares journal entries and reviews accounting classifications, in accordance with generally-accepted accounting principles. Analyzes and prepares financial statements, including balance sheets and statements of financial position. Involved in the monthly/quarterly 'close' process. Prepares documentation in support of external and internal audits.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Maintain general ledger accounts and related activities for the production of financial statements and reports
• Reconcile, analyze and review general ledger accounts in preparation for month end close
• Prepare journal entries and reviews accounting classifications, in accordance with generally-accepted accounting principles
• Prepare documentation in support of external and internal audits
• Perform ad hoc reporting and analysis and investigate issues providing explanations and interpretation
• Analyze and prepare financial statements, including balance sheets and statements of financial position
• Assist with or lead the month end quarterly end close process for assigned businesses or groups
• Performs work in a self-directed manner and works with less structured, more complex issues
• Serve as a resource to others

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent
• 2+ years of professional accounting experience
• Solid understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and financial statements
• Intermediate level of proficiency with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Proven to assess and interpret customer needs and requirements
• Proven to identify solutions to non-standard requests and problems
• Proven to solve moderately complex problems and/or conducts moderately complex analyses

The salary range for this role is $59,500 to $116,600 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
