This position serves in the Laboratory's main communication and customer relations center. The employee monitors test requests in the order/entry system. This position contributes directly to patient care by accurately and timely processing specimens and dispersing information both in and outside the Laboratory. Qualifications Education: High school graduate or equivalent. Training as a unit clerk, medical assistant, medical secretary, or phlebotomist is preferred. Coursework in biology and/or chemistry is considered. Experience: No experience is required. Previous employment in a medical setting, in computer operations, and/or with telephone demands is preferred. License(s)/Certification(s): None Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Must be able to read, write, and speak fluent English. Other: Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position.
