The Probiotic Development (PD) Stability Team investigates the performance of our probiotics over time, enabling optimal product formulation and ensuring our portfolio meets quality standards. The team also plays an essential role in the development of next-generation probiotics. We have an exciting opportunity for a student intern to gain valuable hands-on microbiology experience supporting our dynamic scientific team. A highly motivated intern who demonstrates a strong work ethic may have the opportunity for independent projects as time permits. The position will begin summer 2025 with the possibility of extension through the school year.

Expected duties:

Bacterial enumeration using traditional plate count methods (50%)

Assist with study set up (10%)

Data collection and entry (10%)

Assist in preparation of documents (5%)

Media preparation and dish washing, other general lab duties (25%)

Requirements:

Currently enrolled in an accredited microbiology, biochemistry, genetics, biology or related degree program

Strong interest in microbiology

Self-motivated with the ability and desire to work independently

Keen attention to detail to accurately collect and record data following specific SOPs

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills

Preference will be given to candidates with prior microbiology lab experience, including aseptic technique
