Acara Solutions is seeking highly qualified candidates to work ON-SITE with our client in Merritt Island, FL. Interested?

Here's what you'd do:

  • The Purchasing Buyer executes strategic procurement initiatives to optimize costs, supplier performance, and supply chain efficiency.
  • To secure the best pricing, terms, and service levels while maintaining supplier relationships and ensuring on-time material delivery to support manufacturing operations.
  • Lead supplier negotiations to reduce costs while maintaining high-quality and on-time delivery.
  • Analyze vendor proposals to secure the best value in pricing, terms, and service levels.
  • Develop long-term supplier relationships and manage contract negotiations, ensuring favorable terms and risk mitigation.
  • Identify alternative sources and engage in competitive bidding to optimize procurement costs.
  • Maintain an up-to-date understanding of market trends, commodity pricing, and supplier capabilities to drive strategic sourcing.
  • Execute procurement activities, including purchasing materials, supplies, and equipment, while ensuring compliance with ISO standards.
  • Utilize data-driven decision-making to optimize purchasing strategies based on inventory levels, forecasted demand, and production schedules.
  • Work closely with production teams to align raw material availability with manufacturing requirements.
  • Utilize Open Order Reports, Stock Status Reports, and SSR Reports to track order progress and expedite materials as needed.
  • Monitor vendor performance using scorecards, ensuring continuous cost, quality, and lead time improvement.
  • Resolve chronic delivery issues by working directly with suppliers to improve production and logistics efficiency.
  • Implement supplier risk assessments to identify potential supply chain disruptions and develop contingency plans.
  • Ensure compliance with company purchasing policies, including account/credit terms, purchase orders, and material verification.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records, including purchase orders, packing slips, and material specifications.
  • Update ERP systems (GP) with shipment tracking, PO confirmations, and inventory adjustments.
  • Review and maintain materials price lists, contracts, and requisitions to ensure cost control and budget adherence.
  • Prepare reports on cost savings, supplier performance, and procurement efficiency for senior management.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and finance teams to drive cost-effective purchasing strategies.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and recommend solutions to enhance supply chain efficiency.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, supplier innovations, and best practices to drive continuous improvement.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to support new product development, supplier audits, and operational improvements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the company's strategic objectives.

Here's what you'll get:

Pay: $70,000 / year.

Hours: 40 hrs/Week.

Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Manufacturing.
  • Minimum of 6 years experience in negotiation and buying.
  • Minimum of 6 years experience in materials purchasing or material management.
  • Minimum of 6 years experience in Microsoft Office software and Excel.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Computer literate.
  • GP experience.
  • Exceptional oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions and instruct others, interpret documents, understand procedures, write reports and correspondence, and speak clearly.
  • Good process orientation.
  • Detail-oriented, logical, and methodological approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, and technical procedures.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability in organization and delegation skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision while performing duties under tight time constraints.
  • Certified Professional in Supply Chain Management (CPSM) or APICS Certification.
  • Experience in lean supply chain practices or cost reduction initiatives.
  • Familiarity with commodity price analysis and global supply chain trends.
  • Prior experience with negotiating multi-year supplier agreements.

Additional Information:

  • Upon offer of employment, the individual will be subject to a background check and a drug screen.
  • Travel as needed to meet with suppliers, attend industry events, or conduct supplier assessments.
  • In the course of performing this position, the incumbent spends time writing, typing, speaking, listening, lifting (up to 20 pounds), carrying, seeing (such as close, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and adjusted focus), sitting, pulling, walking, standing, squatting, kneeling and reaching.
  • Able to sit for prolonged periods and work non-traditional hours when needed.
