Position Summary |
Execute daily scheduling/routing strategies for safe and targeted on time performance and route productivity. Develop and schedule operator work assignments for daily bus operations, charters, and special events as well as bus departures from base, breaks, lunches and returns to base using an automated system. The scope of this work scheduling is for 250 drivers or 4,000 driving hours per week. Oversee the day to day implementation of scheduling modifications to improve the overall reliability, efficiency, and on-time performance of buses to maximize service and assesses performance of systems and personnel. Monitor and assess work hours performed to ensure work hour safety policies, timekeeping rules, and overtime control policies are met. Provide effective training, coaching, and counseling to guide employees through the use of the automated systems and processes concerning scheduling matters, and seeks to develop mission-oriented, efficient, and "need driven" work timetables. Report, maintain, and document scheduling processes and procedures to ensure uniformity, consistency, and accuracy. |

- Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of scheduling transit operations.
- Knowledge of and ability to stay abreast of contemporary transit scheduling principles, techniques, and developments.
- Ability to work with data and optimize schedules, routes, and stops.
- Thorough knowledge of Safety Management System principles and how to apply those principles.
- Ability to schedule Safety Meetings to enhance safe operations for drivers.
