Foley & Lardner LLP is accepting applications from second-year law students interested in joining the firm's 2026 Summer Associate Program in the Intellectual Property Department, supporting our Intellectual Property Litigation Practice Group ("IPLG"). 2L Summer Associate positions are available in the following offices: Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, Milwaukee, Salt Lake City and Washington, D.C.

Foley recognizes that patent, trade secret, trademark and copyright litigation requires not only knowledge of patent law, significant technical issues, and the value of IP assets, but also the skill and resources to manage large, complex commercial litigation. Our IP Litigation Practice Group combines the experience of commercial litigators and patent, trademark and copyright attorneys to represent our clients in protecting their significant intellectual property assets, including patents, trademarks, trade secrets and copyrights. Candidates must hold an undergraduate or advanced degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Biochemistry, Biology, Chemistry, or another related discipline. Our ideal candidates are eager to confront new challenges and responsibilities, take satisfaction in developing practical, winning solutions, value an environment where everyone is treated with mutual support and respect, and do their best work when functioning as part of a team. The firm anticipates hosting a 10-week program for summer 2026. This position is open to all qualified candidates who are in their second year at an ABA-accredited law school. Foley & Lardner LLP offers a competitive compensation structure applicable to all positions. The salary for this position is $225,000/year, pro-rated based on the duration of employment. This role is not eligible for benefits.
