Summary:

The Director, Physician Recruitment is responsible for the recruiting and onboarding of physicians associated with UNC Health Wayne. This includes the sourcing, screening, and recruitment of physicians and advanced practitioners in designated specialties. Serves as the single point of contact with referring providers, physician practices, and the hospital. Develop effective strategies/campaigns for recruitment of physicians and advanced practitioners in designated specialties. Maintain database of all candidate information to include curriculum vitae, contact information, referrals and follow-up information. Acts as a physician liaison responsible for relationship management with referring physicians.

Responsibilities:
1.Identify and recruit the highest quality physicians and advanced practitioners. Perform initial interview and screening process to determine candidates' suitability. Maintain and manage communication with physician candidates. Possess a clear understanding of assigned specialty areas and is able to articulate clinical expectations to prospective candidates. Serve as a relationship manager with referring physicians and physician practices on behalf of UNC Health Wayne.
2.Direct all provider recruitment activities and processes as it relates to screening, sourcing, and interviewing candidates. Identify and contact best residency programs and practitioner programs. Recruit from these programs via email blast, flyers and visits. Coordinate all aspects of physician visit, including the itinerary and travel arrangements.
3.Serve as the information source regarding provider recruitment trends within assigned specialty areas. Participate in conferences, job fairs, and physician recruitment opportunity events. Develop, implement, and maintain recruiting, hiring, and retention reports and metrics on a monthly basis. Document all activity into Healthgrades.
4.Design, develop and execute physician outreach initiatives that promote and support strategic growth. Participate in the development and execution of recruitment strategies to achieve planned growth.
5.Acts as a liaison with candidate and practice regarding contractual, credentialing and provider orientation. Continuous communication regarding new provider credentialing status.
6.Works with legal and practice regarding contract negotiations of physician and advanced practitioner. Coordinates and notifies new provider of provider orientation date.
7.Develop effective strategies/campaigns for recruitment of physicians and advanced practitioners. Develop, implement and maintain recruitment related metrics and reports.
8.Responsible for maintaining job postings on internet sites for designated specialties and/or association. Participate in career fairs and other recruitment events as appropriate. Coordinate efforts to align activities with the hospital expectations.
9.Communicate and initiate process with outside recruiters and/or agencies on an as needed basis for permanent placement of physicians or advanced practitioners.
10.Attend professional association meetings to receive current and up to date information regarding trends and market data regarding recruitment of physicians and advanced practitioners.

Other information:
Education
*Bachelor's degree in a business-related field such as Human Resources, Marketing or Business Administration required.

Licensure/Certification
*No license or certification required.

Experience
*Three plus years' experience in physician recruitment experience for hospitals or physician practices preferred.
*Ability to independently identify problems to be solved.
*Proven project management, leadership and execution skills.
*Outstanding customer service and interpersonal skills.
*Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
*Develop and maintain effective relationships with medical staff, employees, patients and the public.

Valid NC Driver's License: Yes
Requires valid NC Driver's License and use of an insured automobile. If driving a Wayne UNC Vehicle, must be 21 years old and MVR must be approved by Risk Management.
