Job Summary |
The College of Liberal Arts Psychological Sciences office is seeking a dedicated
Behavior Analyst to join the Alabama Psychiatric Medication Review Team (
APMRT). In this role, the selected candidate will serve on the Alabama Psychiatric Medication Review Team (
APMRT) and provide professional services to the Alabama Department of Human Resources (
DHR), including consumers served by this agency. This includes conducting parent/staff training, consulting with families in he home, and serving in various professional capacities. This position may also include remote delivery of behavioral services to foster children and their parents.
This is a one-year limited term appointment. Continuation of employment will be contingent upon availability of funding (that is likely but not guaranteed) and performance. The
APMRT project is now in the eighth year. This position is located in
Birmingham. |
Essential Functions |
- Providing behavior-analytic services and training to foster families as deemed appropriate
- Providing training and support to Jefferson, Shelby and Chilton counties (Birmingham, AL) as requested by the Project Director and Assistant Director
- Developing and monitoring personalized behavior intervention plans (PBIPs) for referred foster youth
- Delivering behavior-analytic services to and supervising a caseload of 10 to 15 referred youth who are at varying stages of the assessment and intervention process
- Receiving referrals from the Child Psychiatrist and Psychiatric Nurse regarding the need for a PBIP for foster youth
- Providing recommendations and consult with the APRMT's Psychiatric Nurse and Child Psychiatrist regarding findings

Minimum Qualifications

- Master's degree from an accredited institution in Psychology, Applied Behavior Analysis, Education or related field
- 1 year of experience in the development and delivery of behavior-analytic interventions to foster care children
- Certification as a BCBA or BCBA-D by Behavior Analysis Certification Board, Inc.
- Suitable applicants will need to become a licensed behavior analyst (LBA) in Alabama or the ability to obtain within 30 days of employment and on-going employment is contingent on successfully becoming licensed in Alabama
