The R&D Product Development Scientist will work collaboratively with cross-functional partners to develop and execute new product formulation and development projects, under the guidance of the Product Development and Technical Service leader. As a key member of the product development and innovation team, you will bring your experience to bear on our key product innovation initiatives to create breakthrough new products for our Recreational Water (Pools, Spas, Commercial) chemistry platform.

You will be a seeker and a doer, and collaborate closely with your peers in Marketing, Project Management, and Manufacturing to bring new ideas to live through our stagegate processes. In addition, you will provide scientific leadership in exploring new ideas and vetting potential breakthrough innovation ideas for feasibility with the Sigura Win Together mindset.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and test chemistries for breakthrough innovation in Recreational Water
  • Utilize experimental design best practices to ensure formulation success
  • Document experimental work for IP protection
  • Leverage relationships & knowledge to bring forward partnership opportunities
  • Proactively identify opportunities for improvement of internal procedures and processes
  • Advance new projects through our stagegate process with the project management team
  • Identify new innovation ideas for unique breakthrough products
  • Work safely in a lab environment, and help lead through example in our BBS program

Experience and Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years' experience in chemicals or fast moving consumer products
  • Ph. D in relevant scientific discipline- Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Material Science
  • Knowledge of experimental design and documentation best practices
  • Demonstrated experience in new product development
  • Track record of cross-functional collaboration in product development
  • Experience with EPA regulate products strongly preferred
  • Experience with pool or spa products preferred
  • Experience with oxidation/chlorination chemistry a plus
