Description

Starkey is looking to add a Custom Repair Technician II to it's team at its global headquarters in Eden Prairie, MN. The custom repair technician is responsible for analyzing and repairing hearing aid products to meet dealer/customer specifications. Specific products to be repaired include, but not exclusive of these models: In the Ear (ITE or CE), In the Canal (ITC or CC) and Completely in the Canal (CIC or TY). This position will also help drive process and product improvements. Technicians will be required to be certified in analysis, wiring, case, cut/buff and final. Certified technicians have the opportunity to advance to the following positions: Custom Repair Tech 1, Customer Repair Tech II, Sr. Customer Repair Tech and Master Artist.

Job Duties:



  1. Analyze Hearing Aids/Customer complaints using electronic equipment (multi-meter, drain meter, RTA)

    1. Analyze Hearing Aids/Customer complaints using Inspire Software
    2. Record component failures, Code complaint and actions, Order replacement parts
    3. Record failures using the Pareto System and CQ Repair Analysis System


  2. Wire: Wire aid from start to finish using correct components according to CQ

    1. Replace components (i.e. switches, wireless antennas, circuits, etc.) to plates according to Design and CQ
    2. Listen test aid to ensure aid and options are working properly
    3. Check drain and verify drain is within specs with CQ, if capable
    4. Verify correct components and wire correctly if aid is not working properly


  3. Case: Verify sound and cosmetic quality of hearing aids

    1. Listen to the hearing aids for sound quality and adjust components to alleviate oscillation or feedback
    2. Check for any cosmetic defects, repair as necessary


  4. Cut, Trim, Bevel and Buff hearing aid

    1. Cut off excess plastic, bevel, and buff aid to desired look


  5. Final: Ensure hearing aid final appearance is up to standard and ensure all options are added according to design specifications

    1. Verify the functionality and quality of the hearing aid
    2. Add all Final options


  6. Ensure hearing aid is completed in a timely manner

    1. Use lean manufacturing principals while performing duties




Requirements:



  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in hearing aid or small electronics preferred but not required.
  • Experience or knowledge of soldering is helpful.

  • Good communication skills - verbal and written and reading comprehension required.

  • Ability to differentiate colors required.
  • Troubleshoot problems.
  • Good hearing to perform listening tests required.
  • Basic computer skills desired.


Salary and Other Compensation:

The target rate for this position is between $19.25 to $26.25 year. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is eligible for a bonus based upon performance results. There is no guarantee of payout
