Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in business, compliance, supply chain, engineering or related field required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. 7 years global trade experience including customs regulations, import transactions, customs broker management and technical systems, and applicable activities. 3 years experience managing professional level employees. Master's Degree preferred. Position Purpose: Provide leadership and oversight for import operations and compliance within the Global Trade team. Accountable for influencing the organization and ensuring successful execution of the global import compliance program to provide effective and efficient regulatory compliance administration, operational support, training, assessments and business systems integration.
Job Description
Principle Duties and Responsibilities: Essential Functions:
  1. Provide oversight & guidance for corporatewide import activities including parts and aircraft .
  2. Develop, update and maintain import compliance policies, procedures, KPIs and reporting .
  3. Oversee adherence to global import laws and the regulatory requirements including duties, taxes and fees .
  4. Monitor import regulations, including changes to HTS (Harmonized Tariff Schedule) classifications, valuation, special trade programs & country of origin determinations .
  5. Manage Customs Broker relationship including SOP's, KPI's, discrepancies, etc .
  6. Evaluate gov't requirements and partner with regional teams to ensure import compliance .
  7. Ensure planning, alignment and execution of applicable compliance training for employees .
  8. Ensure adequate recordkeeping systems are implemented and maintained for trade compliance activity .
  9. Serve as subject matter expert to company management and external customers concerning Import Compliance .
  10. Manage Import Compliance program and function specific trade compliance projects .
  11. Identify import compliance issues and risk areas, develop solutions and provide guidance to resolve issues that support business objectives while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations and internal policies .
  12. Conduct audits and investigations concerning applicable import compliance issues .
  13. Develop & implement corrective actions based on audit findings and regulatory changes .
  14. Manage FTZ location including reporting requirements and auditing .
  15. Manage a team of import compliance professionals .
Additional Functions:
  1. Provide support for additional projects within Global Trade and the broader Compliance organization as requested by the Dir of Global Trade or Compliance leadership .
Perform other duties as assigned. Other Requirements:
  1. Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) cert or Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) preferred.
  2. Knowledge of US Customs programs including Free Trade Agreements (FTA), Antidumping and Countervailing Duty (AD/CVD), PGAs and other relevant US and Foreign import/export regulatory organizations and systems.
  3. Ability to lead, take action and provide direction in the face of ambiguity and to get results in diverse, fast-paced environments.
  4. Requires strong oral and written communication skills.
  5. Ability to build relationships and partner at all levels of the organization.
  6. Exceptional decision making and critical thinking skill required.
  7. Extremely organized, detail oriented and able to effectively manage multiple competing priorities.
  8. Requires Program/Project Management knowledge and practice.
  9. Ability to understand and employ Lean Six Sigma concepts and principles.
  10. Basic understanding of acft mfg, engineering, product support ops, applicable FAA regs, personnel and related business systems.
