Job Purpose

The Logistics Analyst will play an important role in supporting a variety of complex projects related to transportation. Key activities of this position include driving logistics efficiencies and compliance, becoming a subject matter expert within Herc Rentals' transportation related applications/processes, perform data compilation and analysis for management, communicate with internal stakeholders, and ensure support is provided regarding all logistics billing/payment processes (including supporting 3rd party programs in place).

What you will do...

  • Point of contact and liaison for the Field Support Center's (FSC) Logistics team, Branches and Field Operations
  • Responsible for various administrative responsibilities, such as system access requests, assisting with 3rd party hauling claims, and ensuring field entry order accuracy
  • Support company-wide freight program encompassing all 3rd party logistics providers
  • Manage and assist with the onboarding of carriers into Herc network
  • Assisting with external hauling during emergency events
  • Provide support with scheduling and monitoring rental equipment movements as needed
  • Support the freight bill audit and pay process as well as carrier relations
  • Become SME in both On the Go (external dispatch/scheduling tool) and 3rd party hauling TMS (Transportation Management System)
  • Monitor internal and external compliance within the Herc freight program and other key performance measurements
  • Use data and reports to assist in identifying and driving transportation opportunities focusing on both revenue and expenses
  • Gathers, collects, records, tracks, and verify data and information from multiple sources including SQL
  • Assist team with 3rd party application enhancement projects and aid with logistics efficiency initiatives
  • Work closely with multiple departments to create future technological efforts:

    • Creation and enhancements or Qlik dashboards
    • Participate in user acceptance testing
    • Drive pilot efforts
    • Assist in development of rollout plans
    • Assist in development of training


  • Transportation related special projects and ad hoc assignments

Requirements

  • Equipment industry experience desirable
  • Familiarity with the transport of equipment
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent work experience


Skills

  • Team player with initiative and a positive attitude
  • Ability to work under pressure, possess a sense of urgency
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (English - both verbal and written)
  • Understands basic concepts of supply chain
  • Results-oriented, excellent analytical, process and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in SQL
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Word, Access, Excel and PowerPoint required

Pay Range: $60,000 - $75,000
