Job Responsibilities:
 
  
 - Provides primary health care services to adults, children, and pregnant women, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention as well as diagnosis and management of acute and chronic health conditions.
 - Provides comprehensive primary care including inpatient services and after-hours coverage.
 - Provides wellness care for adults and children including screening and immunizations.
 - Teaches health promotion, wellness, and disease prevention.
 - Diagnoses and, in partnership with the patient, manages acute and chronic health conditions.
 - Provides obstetric care including perinatal care and labor and delivery.
 - Orders, conducts, and interprets diagnostic studies and laboratory tests.
 - Prescribes medication.
 - Prepares and maintains medical patient reports and records.
 - Participates in the development of medical policies, procedures, and medical standards of care.
 - Participates in the evaluation of the care given.
 - Participates in the training of nurse practitioners, medical students, and medical residents.
 - Participates in clinic staffing, Quality Assurance Committee meetings, and Total Quality Management trainings and work groups as requested.
 
  
 
 
Qualifications: 
 
  
 - Licensed as a physician in the State of Wisconsin.
 - Completion of Family Practice Residency from an accredited Family Medicine Program.
 - Board certification or eligibility for Board Certification in Family Practice.
 - Insurable for liability coverage as a Family Practitioner
 - Working knowledge of the social and cultural factors associated with the community's use of social and health care services.
 - Ability to understand patient attitudes and needs, develop and orient program goals and concepts accordingly, and work effectively toward their accomplishment with all staff members.
 - Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, officials, the public, patients, other private and public organizational representatives, health care personnel, and community groups and organizations.
 - Ability to work under pressure, maintain personal composure, evaluate situations act/react appropriately, and use tact in dealing with visitors, patients, and difficult situations.
 - Ability to identify and maintain confidential material.
 - Ability to interpret and conform program operations to applicable laws, rules, regulations, and funding source requirements and according to acceptable standards.
 - Spanish speaking preferred.
