Mechanical Engineer Jacksonville, FL Pay From: $125,000 per year MUST: Mechanical Engineer (PE) 5 years minimum mechanical engineer experience 10 years preferred Experienced and expertise in Fire Protection Systems Experience with Support major and complex projects (including MILCON) for government facilities such as offices, hospitals, manufacturing plants, and waterfront structures. Strong command of mechanical engineering principles and software tools used in construction and utilities design. Working knowledge of ASME, ASHRAE, NFPA, SMACNA, IMC, IPC, and IBC codes and standards. Proficiency with Autodesk products, Microsoft Office, and mechanical design/analysis tools. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for analysis, documentation, and team coordination. Experience with project budgeting, planning, and safety compliance. Fire Protection Systems Background Highly Desired If you bring experience designing or analyzing fire suppression, detection, and alarm systems-or working with NFPA codes-your expertise will be highly valued in this role. Bachelor's degree from an ABET-accredited Mechanical Engineering program (preferred), with relevant facilities design experience. DUTIES: Mechanical Engineer will support Naval Air Station and provide on-site Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) at Naval Air Station Jacksonville, FL Supports the Engineering and Design Division (D4) of the Design and Construction Business Line (DCBL), contributing to critical Navy and Marine Corps infrastructure initiatives Prepare detailed designs, plans, specifications, and cost estimates for various mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, compressed air, energy systems, control systems, and utility systems Support major and complex projects (including MILCON) for government facilities such as offices, hospitals, manufacturing plants, and waterfront structures Deliver mechanical engineering services for projects involving renewable energy systems, power distribution, air pollution control, and process piping. Ensure all designs comply with DoD and Navy specifications, as well as relevant codes and regulations at all levels Work closely with stakeholders and other engineering disciplines to integrate mechanical systems into comprehensive project designs Provide independent and expert-level mechanical engineering consultation for the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of diverse Navy and Marine Corps facilities.
