The Institute for Computation and Data-Enabled Insights (ICDI) at the University of Arizona invites applications for a postdoctoral researcher position shared between the Pauli Lab and the ICDI, and external partners with the Department of Energy (DOE) for the first sponsored The ICDI Emerging Tech Postdoctoral Program. The selected candidate will work on an exciting interdisciplinary project focused on developing predictive models for growing bioenergy-sorghum focused. The role combines gene network modeling with ecophysiological modeling, integrating a wide variety of phenotypic data to improve bioenergy cultivation practices.

Duties & Responsibilities |
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Research Focus: The research will explore novel mathematical and algorithmic approaches for fusing multimodal data, including but not limited to: Genotypic and phenotypic data, imaging, spectral, and LIDAR data, weather and soil data
- A key aspect of the work involves using foundation large language models (LLMs) and knowledge graphs for multimodal modeling
- Additional duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong background in gene network modeling, ecophysiological modeling, or bioenergy related research
- Proficiency in working with large language models, knowledge graphs, and computational tools for data fusion
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment

Minimum Qualifications |
- Ph.D. in computational biology, bioinformatics, data science, or a related field. Degree must be conferred by start date.

Preferred Qualifications |
Experience with multimodal data integration and machine learning techniques. |
