Avionics Technician I

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• 
  

  Troubleshoot, repair, inspect, modify and service aircraft avionics/accessories/oxygen equipment.

  
  
• 
  

  Perform and document work performed per appropriate manuals and regulations as required.

  
  
• 
  

  Maintain all shop calibrated tools in satisfactory operational conditions.

  
  
• 
  

  Ensure that all work is performed in accordance with approved technical and regulatory data.

  
  

• 
  

  Perform work assignments as determined by the shop lead.

  
  
• 
  

  Uses appropriate inspection techniques, and calibrated equipment for the unit/part being accomplished.

  
  
• 
  

  Comply with environmental health and safety policies and procedures.

  
  
• 
  

  Records information and accomplishes the work assignments in compliance with the inspection procedures manual in quality policies and procedures.

  
  
• 
  

  Ability to read and interpret schematics and drawings.

  
  

• 
  

  Perform all assigned tasks in a safe and timely manner.

  
  
• 
  

  Other duties as assigned.

  
  

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• 
  

  Associates degree

  
  

• 
  

  3+ year of relevant/technical work experience OR

  
  
  
  
  • 
    

    An additional 2 years of specific work experience in lieu of degree.

    
    
  
  
  
  
• 
  

  Ability to read and understand electrical engineering drawings

  
  
• 
  

  The ability to teardown, inspection, parts requisition, assembly, testing, troubleshooting, repair, and overhaul of aircraft accessory/avionic/oxygen units to the component level.

  
  
• 
  

  Ability to effectively communicate in both written and verbal form on individual and / or aircraft status

  
  

• 
  

  Must be computer literate, and proficient with Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, and Excel).

  
  

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  Bachelor's degree

  5+ years of specific work experience

  
  

• 
  

  Strong knowledge of avionic components

  
  
• 
  

  Strong knowledge of accessory components

  
  
• 
  

  Strong knowledge of oxygen components

  
  
• 
  

  Digital selector panels

  
  
• 
  

  FCC General Radio Telephone license
