A Brief Overview Join our collaborative team to make discoveries that improve the lives of children and adults with bowel motility disorders. We are seeking highly talented, motivated candidates who work well independently and collaboratively. We expect creativity, diligence, meticulous work, and record-keeping, coupled with a desire to learn and to advance team goals.
What you will do
- Perform research procedures with minimal supervision
- Record results and maintain lab notebooks in a detailed and well-organized manner
- Formulate and perform complex experiments and analyze results, summarize and report data
- Perform tasks that require knowledge of advanced techniques and lab equipment
- May involve work with animals, cells, and human biospecimens
- Perform advanced calculations
- Assist with planning research protocols and procedures
- Assist in development and troubleshooting of new techniques and ideas
- Modify scientific methods and protocols (in conjunction with PI)
- Check other investigators results for completeness and accuracy
- Train and mentor new staff
- Assist in preparation of grants, journal articles, posters, and oral presentations
- Maintain office and lab space in an organized manner
- Ensure reagents, supplies, and equipment are available and in good working order
- Assist with routine lab tasks
- Attend courses, seminars, and lab meetings to expand knowledge of research and laboratory techniques
- Review the literature to develop and troubleshoot protocols
Education Qualifications
- High School Diploma / GED Required
- Bachelor's Degree Preferred
Experience Qualifications
- At least two (2) years of related classroom experience or successful completion of a technical training program (eg. Wistar, WPSI) and research laboratory experience Required
- Deep knowledge (from classes or prior research) of relevant fields is preferred. Relevant areas include neuroscience, biochemistry, cell biology, genetics, molecular biology, developmental biology, microbiology, and immunology Preferred

- Advanced understanding of lab procedures, protocols, and equipment.
- Intermediate proficiency with lab specific experiments and techniques.
