Mental Health Clinician 40491BR 40491BR Position Description This a responsible professional position with limited administrative and supervisory duties at the unit level. Specific duties include testing, psychological evaluation and diagnostic services as well as counseling assigned patient caseload. This position functions under the supervision of a higher level licensed psychologist, but the individual has full professional responsibility for higher actions and advice. Major/Essential Functions Inmate risk management Detection of severe mental illness in all inmate interaction General inmate management of severely mentally ill and at risk inmates Process referrals to the medical and mental health providers Completes referrals to crisis management Correct and thorough completion of all types of clinical interviews. Completes all daily documentation by the close of business each day. Notify security of Inmate protection investigation (IPI) and inmate threats toward others as instructed by the Safe Prisons Plan. Processes cancellations of referrals to Behavioral health facility (BHF). Assessments written based upon balanced clinical judgement Effectively prioritizing job duties while maintaining risk management as a priority. Maintains monthly productivity numbers as set by Behavioral Health Management Team. Adheres to all policies and standards. Professional growth, development, and utilization of supervision Professionally complete other unit specific tasks, including suicide prevention screener and mental health chain in reminders. Performs a various to be determined and assigned by the Regional Manager, Senior Director, Direct Supervisor, or designees.
